The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has lambasted former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, for accusing the current administration of incompetence and ineptitude.
The forum described Dalung's comments as "shameless recklessness and insanity" given his own track record of mismanagement and corruption while in office.
The AYCF President, Yerima Shettima, highlighted Dalung's failures, including the embarrassment Nigerian athletes faced at the 2016 Rio Olympics due to his incompetence and the alledged unlawful withdrawal of $130,000 from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
The forum also noted that Dalung's attempts toá return as a minister and his failed bid for a House of Representatives seat in 2023 under the SDP ticket further highlight his lack of integrity and popular support.
The AYCF condemned Dalung's actions and called for accountability for his numerous acts of misgovernance and corruption. The forum urged Nigerians to reject individuals like Dalung who prioritize personal interests over national interests and support leaders committed to transparency, accountability, and good governance.
In conclusion, the AYCF stated that Dalung has no moral standing to pass judgment on any administration, and his attempts to regain political relevance should be rejected by the Nigerian public.
