NNPP Kaduna State Chapter Denies Defection to PDP

Zakari Haruna, Kaduna

The Kaduna State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has denied a report published by the New Nigerian Newspaper on July 22, 2024, claiming that its executives had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement signed by Hon. Zubairu Hassan, the State Organising Secretary of the NNPP, the party described the report as "mischievous" and "false." The party leadership claimed that the individuals who paraded themselves as the state executives that defected to the PDP were "419 people" who were trying to divert attention from the growing popularity of the NNPP in Kaduna State.

The NNPP assured the public that it remains the only political party in Kaduna State that has the confidence of the electorate and is capable of solving their problems. The party urged the New Nigerian Newspaper to be balanced in its reporting and to differentiate between "false flags" and genuine leadership.

The statement was signed by Hon. Zubairu Hassan, State Organising Secretary, NNPP, and was attended by other party executives, including Prof S.U. Danfulani, DG Kwankwaso Campaign; Mohammed Lawal Sultan, Leader of NNPP Kaduna State Chairman; Ahmed A. Idris, Ex-Officio 2; Sani Bazallah, Deputy State Treasurer; Balarabe Isa, S.S.A. Liaison Office; and Bello Ibn Aminu, Asst State Secretary.
