The Marafa Foundation has graduated sixty youths from various skill acquisition programs and inaugurated a new executive team in Kaduna State.

The sixty trainees were trained in catering, chemical processing, and makeup. The graduation ceremony was recently held at Arewa House in Kaduna.

Speaking to newsmen, the founder of the foundation, Engineer Basiru Ibrahim Marafa, explained, "Based on my faith, we are mandated to support those who do not have work, especially the youth in society, irrespective of their ethnic and religious backgrounds."

He noted that the aim of establishing the foundation is to support the government in creating job opportunities for our able youth, contributing to the growth and development of a better future for the younger generation.

"In making them self-reliant members of society, they can contribute to the development of the people of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large," Engineer Basiru added.

Engineer Basiru also called on all tiers of government to collaborate with the foundation, highlighting its impact on youth by creating and providing employment opportunities for both males and females.

The Kaduna State Coordinator of the foundation, Jamilu Isah Sani, said, "The foundation was established twenty years ago and has graduated more than two thousand youths in various trades, ranging from federal polytechnic Kaduna, Panteka artisans, and other business sectors."

He also urged the graduates to maintain the dedication and sacrifices shown by the trainers, continue in their business endeavors, and recruit other youths in their places of work.

"We are all grateful to God for the initiative established by Engineer Basiru Ibrahim. May God Almighty bless him and reward him with Aljannah (paradise)," Sani added.

Speaking with past graduates from the foundation, Alhaji Abbas Aminu (Gwaska), Chairman of the New Panteka Market, commended Alhaji Basiru for his tremendous contributions towards initiatives that produce artisans, businesses, and job creation for the youth.

He, however, called on politicians to partner with the foundation for the development of Kaduna communities and the nation, to reduce joblessness among the youth in society.

Another former student of the foundation, Auwal Aliyu, said, "As a Panteka artisan, I have recruited and graduated more than five sets of youth."

"I'm delighted to see these young men and women wearing gowns for the celebration of their graduation. It's a very positive development to see youth involved in such trades that will significantly boost the nation's technology," he added.

Abdul Azeez Shaaibu, from the first batch of the foundation, said, "I'm really proud of the foundation and the founder. He is the reason I am who I am today."

He also urged wealthy individuals to emulate Marafa for the kind of generosity and opportunities he has provided to both men and women for the development of Kaduna communities.

Graduate students Rabiuatu Suleiman, who learned chemical processing, and Sadiya Usman Hajar, who learned makeup, both thanked the foundation and Engineer Basiru Ibrahim Marafa for giving them the opportunity to acquire skills through free training.
