SWAN Hails Gusau's Emergence as WAFU B 1st Vice President



The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), on his appointment as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B zone.

In a congratulatory letter signed by SWAN Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, praised Gusau’s track record of excellence in football administration.

Benjamin expressed optimism that Gusau’s experience and leadership skills will contribute significantly to repositioning football in the sub-region.

The letter reads in part: “Your latest attainment is a clear testimony of your visionary and dedication to grassroots and elite development of football over the years in Nigeria… The teeming Nigerian Sporting Media are optimistic that you will deploy your experience and high-level ability in your new role at WAFU.”

Gusau’s appointment was confirmed during the WAFU B leadership elections held in Niamey, Niger Republic, on Friday.

SWAN assured Gusau of Nigeria’s sporting media support to enable him to succeed in his new role.
