The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyode has commissioned
Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects executed by Maj.-Gen. Shua'ibu Nuhu in Zaria.
Oluyode was represented by the Commander of the Nigeria Army Infantry Corps, Maj.-Gen Abdul-Khaleefa Ibrahim restated the commitment of the Nigerian Army to pursue both kinetic and non-kinetic lines of operations.
The Army Chief said the initiative was also geared towards complementing the infrastructural development efforts of government, particularly for communities tied to senior officers who have risen to the rank of Major General.
He said Nigerian Army will continue to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies as well as with communities like Zaria, to ensure a secure and enabling environment for socio-economic development," he said.
General Oluyode appealed for timely and actionable information to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies towards ending persistent security challenges in some parts of Nigeria.
The projects inaugurated were Solar Power borehole, Blocks of Class Rooms and Chairs, Staff Room and Six Toilets at Nuhu Bamalli Primary School, Kwarbai Zaria.
He noted that the special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Projects, provides an opportunity for the Nigerian Army to deploy its non-kinetic efforts to strengthen civil-military relations and foster community development.
According to him the Projects remains a cornerstone of their efforts to foster public support, enhance cooperation and sustain a harmonious interaction between the Army and the civilian populace.
In his speech the Director of Army Coordination and linkages, Major General Shuaibu Nuhu said he selected Nuhu Bamalli primary school Fadi Sonka Zaria city to allow his community benefit from the civil military corporation and intervention projects.
General Nuhu said, paying back to the community is a very good thinking and it strengthen the long existing relationship.
He thank the COAS for his support from the begging of the projects which will make meaningful impact to the community.
In his remarks the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmad Bamalli commended the army for the initiative and tasks Zaria Local Education Authority for judicious use of the project.
Bamalli noted that Zazzau Emirate was a host to key training institutions for the army and police appeal for more projects that will strengthen collaboration between communities and security agencies.
